What is EDGAR Next?
The SEC's updated access system. Since 15 September 2025, filing requires Login.gov individual credentials with multifactor authentication and account administrator or user permissions. The CIK and CCC are still required; legacy passwords and PMACs were discontinued. (sec.gov, 15 Sep 2025)
How do I get EDGAR access for a new filer?
Submit Form ID through EDGAR Filer Management with a notarised authenticating document uploaded as a PDF. We prepare both for you.
Can several people share one login?
No. Login.gov credentials belong to one individual and must not be shared. Each person needs their own account and role.
Which filings need iXBRL?
Domestic filers tag the cover page and financial statements in 10-K and 10-Q filings and certain registration statements, and the cover page of every 8-K. Foreign private issuers tag 20-F and 40-F annual reports and certain 6-K financial statements. (sec.gov iXBRL; Regulation S-T Rules 405 and 406)
What are Exhibits 101 and 104?
Exhibit 101 is the Interactive Data File required by Rule 405. Exhibit 104 is the cover page Interactive Data File required by Rule 406.
What if a 10-K or 10-Q will be late?
File Form 12b-25 (NT 10-K or NT 10-Q) no later than one business day after the due date. If conditions are met, you get 15 extra calendar days for an annual report or 5 for a quarterly report. (17 CFR 240.12b-25)
Does Form D have an SEC fee?
No. The SEC does not charge a fee for Form D or its amendments. (SEC Form D FAQ)
What time does EDGAR close?
EDGAR accepts filings 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. ET on business days. Most filings must begin transmission by 5:30 p.m. ET to get that day's filing date. (Regulation S-T Rule 13)
